For Immediate Release July 18, 2005

At a recent ceremony, Susan Gawronski, community involvement coordinator for Wal-Mart Stores, presented a check for $800 to Compeer volunteer coordinator Eileen Dunn. The donation matched the proceeds of the 2005 Compeer spaghetti dinner. This Community Matching Grants Program involves fundraising efforts by non-profit organizations with the participation of Wal-Mart associates. The spaghetti dinner is one of the annual activities held in support of the Compeer for Youth Program. The Youth Program matches trained volunteers in a one-to-one friendship with youth ages 5 to 17 who are referred to the program by mental health professionals. The Compeer Program is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living. For further information, contact Compeer Chautauqua at 716-366-7792, Ext. 208.
